Seen on the box of the Kryptonite Evolution lock I bought today:

Lifetime Warranty
Garantie à Vie
Garantia de Por Vida
10 Jährige Garantie

I knew Germans like efficiency, but this is ridiculous!

That's Kryptonite's definition of the expected lifetime of their
product they are willing to support.

German law doesn't allow "lifetime warranty" since it's a too
unspecific phrase, typically 30y is the max you get offered.

Germany frowns on conditions in so-called lifetime warranties. I suspect
that the Kryptonite lifteime warranty comes with many conditions, such
as it applies to the original owner only.
