Put the child locks on maybe. |

Put the child locks on maybe. I hear that this has now changed, but at one time, Home Office specifications for a purpose-built cab* included a requirement that the two rear access doors may not be fitted with a lock of any kind, such that passengers could not be "locked in" either by their own action or that of the driver. It had implications for the security of parked taxis, of course, and eventually, that was sufficient to outweigh the former chief concerns. [* Not that the vehicle in question was a cab, nor the defendant a cab-driver, of course.] |

He was the driver of a pirate car. Are you a cab driver? You do seem to be a stupid, right wing bigot, who insists on broadcasting his inane opinions to people who just aren't interested. I can certainly see the similarities... |

The cyclist was ****ed up. One would have thought that a cyclist/road user would have been more careful? In a past life I've owned taxis and many a time I've had to shout "DON'T OPEN THE DOOR"!!!!!!! |

We are all well aware that cyclists are only interested in themselves and their own self-justifications. That doesnn't mean that they should be allowed to reside within their natural state of ignorance. I can certainly see the similarities... BTW: Was the "cyclist" in the story really riding his bike in the back of the car? |

It's not just a lack of vitamin d that you're suffering from. |

So when a cyclist is riding past a parked car and the driver opens his door and kills the cyclist, it is the passing cyclist's fault to riding too close? However, a drunken cyclist is killed as he exits a taxi without looking and now it is the car's occupant that is to blame for not looking. In this trial though, the taxi driver was found to be at fault for allowing his passenger to exit when it wasn't safe. Interesting decision. |
