Default Lamp post attacks cyclist

Light weapon kills cyclist, when will these be banned or properly
regulated, should lamp posts have hi-viz jackets? The lamp post must be
mobile since they all seem to be on the footway or pavement as they are
known.

The cyclist, who collided with a lamp post, suffered serious head
injuries and was rushed to Russells Hall Hospital in Dudley. He was
pronounced dead a short while later.

When will they learn to wear helmets?

''As the severity of the injury increased the benefit of wearing a
helmet increased, which is very hard to ignore I think,'' Dr Olivier said.

Results showed that cyclists without helmets were more than 3.9 times as
likely to sustain a head injury to those with helmets. Helmets reduced
the risk of moderate head injury by 49 per cent, of serious head injury
by 62 per cent, and of severe head injury by 74 per cent".

I saw nothing in the report which implied that the bicyclist was wearing
or not wearing a helmet.

I can see nothing to suggest he was wearing a blindfold either, but it seems
to be standard kit for these dozy *******s who keep colliding with large,
stationary objects.

Perhaps one day cyclists will learn that large objects made out of concrete
and metal don't jump out of their way like most pedestrians have to.

Had he worn one, the likelihood of a serious head injuy is vastly reduced.

Oh, Peter, think a minute.

Helmets are magical devices - they protect against any and all perils.
The cyclist suffered injury, and regardless of the extent or nature of
that injury, it must follow that he was *NOT* wearing a helmet.

S'obvious, innit?

He probably was wearing a helmet as he was in a race at the time.
