Nearly as dim as these London cyclists that keep going up the inside of
tipper lorries at junctions, they hear one has died doing it so they all
try it.

I trust that they took his bicycle registration number and his personal
details, and that he will now be prosecuted.

it seems it was only a highways officer that got him off the motorway,
so probably no fine, the other three this year did get fines.

"It is the third time this year police have been called to deal with a
cyclist pedalling along a Surrey motorway.

In February, a cyclist was fined £50 after a mobile phone app sent him
onto the M25 between junctions 11 and 12 , for Chertsey and the M3.

And in March, another cyclist was fined after again following an app
onto the M3 westbound, between Sunbury and the M25 junction".

Unbelievable. How can they be that dim?

I don't know.

Likewise, I cannot understand how motorists stray into cycle and bus
lanes during restricted periods, or why they don't seem to understand
what advance stop lines are.

I wonder what happens more frequently, cyclists on roads from which
they are prohibited, or motorists on lanes from which they are
prohibited - and if frequency rates of infringement are related to
dimness.

If 80 percent of cyclists are car drivers I would imagine that a fair
number of them should be familiar with the Highway Code, yet perhaps
cycling takes away blood from the brain and prevents logical thought?
It could explain a lot.

You could well be correct. I wonder if it is actually the haemorrhoids taking
and holding the blood and depriving the brain?

Motorists 'stray' into the cycle & bus lanes and ASLs, not because they
are dim, but because such things should be treated with utter contempt.

Ironically, motorists pay for these minority interest annoyances, which
cause delays to motorists.

They know full well that they're not allowed on motorways, but do it anyway.
Laws mean nothing to cyclists whose only motivation is to get from point A
to point B in the shortest time possible. For that purpose, satnavs are
ideal for these pitiful idiots.

No doubt the pathetic excuse that "the satnav told me to" is some kind of
ridiculous attempt to mitigate the offence(s) to reduce their fine, because
as we already know, most cyclists are skint and have very little earnings
potential due to their ludicrous clothing, disgusting aroma, weird beliefs
and volatile tempers.

Lets see, what happens more often - cyclists on footpaths, or drivers
in mandatory cycle lanes ?

Thats a toughie

Yes - the two types are mandatory and advisory, cyclists are permitted
to use either; motorists can use advisory ones only.

It depends on the calculation.

The best way to calculate would be motorist infringements per mile of
mandatory cycle lane plus bus lane pus advance stop reservoir compared
with cyclist infringements per mile of motorway plus footway.

Thats a toughie

I wonder if you are daft, then you are more likely to become a cyclist.

Or - does cycling actually make you daft.

(I am reminded of Crispin, Simple Simon, and the Porker)

And are you still pining for the loves of your life? Don't worry; there
are plenty more fish in the sea.
