No it doesn't.* Firstly I don't slow down for parked cars, secondly
traffic calming is just not needed under any circumstances, thirdly
all it does is damage suspension, wheel alignment, tyres, etc,
causing all cars to be unroadworthy.

If drivers don't want traffic calming, there is a very simple solution
which rests in their hands.

No there isn't.* The government puts that **** on the roads whether we

It's not a matter of what drivers think. It's a matter of how drivers
behave.

If you can afford a car the government has to claw back your
benefits somehow.

Almost everyone has a car. Why are they stealing money from
everyone?

...because almost everyone has a car.

About time they stole from cyclists.

Nobody is forcing to drive everywhere.

Awwww you poor little snowflake, are they intimidating you? It's you with the problem, not them. I'm perfectly fine cycling in heavy traffic.

Of course not, we're all free to cycle 100s of miles, get there late, tired, wet, and not be able to carry lots of stuff. Get into the 21st century you silly neanderthal.

Thanks greatly for that EXCELLENT compliment coming from YOU -
especially as it comes from YOU.
Now please ejaculate to me the further great honour of thick-headed
trog. Please?

It really is a very great compliment to be called a silly neanderthal
by YOU. Especially by YOU.
And I have no ****ing interest in looking good in YOUR eyes.
After all I ride a bicycle, a very convenient delightful economical
viable means of transport.
And we all know what YOU think of bicyclists. You think they are the
****witted pits of humanity.
And because it is YOU who think that, that is an extremely great
compliment.
We must be doing something right.

PS neanderthals had bigger brains than sapiens.

Typically, a Peeler will releases less than a teaspoon of gunk from the
100 or so slime glands that line his flanks. And in less than half a
second, that little amount will expand by 10,000 times—enough to fill a
sizable bucket.

Then it's necessary to assume that complaining about traffic calming is
one your life's pleasures and you would be bereft if there wasn't any.

(btw, I can cycle over speed bumps without falling off.)

Yes, you have the choice to cycle 100's of miles - apart from not being
allowed on many high quality roads. If you want the luxuries, expect to
pay extra. That's how things always work.

I complain for a reason, it damages suspension, whether you're speeding or not. Ask any mechanic who works in a garage where there are lots of speedbumps. They can see the number of replaced suspension parts skyrocketing when the bumps are installed. It makes up a good proportion of their income.

(btw, I can cycle over speed bumps without falling off.)

And yet you're scared of cars closer than 1.5 metres?

And how would a high quality road make you manage 100 miles in the time alloted to get to the destination? And how much weight and bulk can you carry on a bicycle? And do you expect the frail, elderly, disabled, etc to use bicycles? Get yourself into the 21st century FFS.

Peeler's slime looks revolting, but it’s also one of nature’s more
wondrous substances, unlike anything else that’s been concocted by
either evolution or engineers.
