Default highways agency consultation

The highways agency are sending a rep to 'inform' cyclists about their
plans for the Woodhead road in the peak District.

The rep will attend kirklees public cycling meeting, next Monday at
7.30pm Dewsbury Sports centre

The agency plans a bypass in South manchseter to alleviate traffic
jams, the concern has been that doing so will mean a constant stream
of vehicles past 2 difficult junctions at the base of Holme Moss and
the Glossop road. Both of which are popular with cyclists.

The agency also plans to put traffic lights at the flouch junction,
near langsett.

It is estimated that queues of 300m will form at this point and they
have admitted they have given no thought to cyclists.
