Tour broadcasters are the sounds of summer
Summer brings its own background music. Yours might be the buzz of a
lawnmower, the spritz of a sprinkler, the lazy hum of a baseball game. Mine, increasingly, has become the lilting British accents of Phil Liggett and Paul Sherwen. Thanks to the willingness of Outdoor Life Network to milk a very, very good thing, the Tour de France commentators can be heard all day long - from dawn to dark - as the day's stage is played, then replayed again and again.
