Default Bicycles in heating history

Some of you might enjoy this article, from a forum on heating, mostly
for those in the trade:

https://heatinghelp.com/blog/how-bic...ating-history/

Back around the turn of the previous century, bicycle transportation for
plumbers was a new idea, allowing them to make more calls than they
could when travelling by train. One imagines that some of the younger
generation might even have considered using an employer-provided bicycle
to be a perk.

According to _The Metal Worker_, 5 August, 1899, this innovation was
widely accepted in "an Eastern city of 30,000 inhabitants" but in Los
Angeles the Plumbers' Union strictly prohibited the use of bicycles, as
being unfair to those members unwilling to adopt the wheel.

Lol, the new disruptive technology of the day.

It is amazing how many industries have compete air brush the bicycle from
their industry.

The funniest over here was the fact that the then newly for Motorists
association first used tricycles in their road size service fleet and
bicyce for their city guide service. they've now completely expunged that
part of their history.

The early Australian motor car touring guides were written by a fellow
who researched the routes on a bicyle to advise early motorist which of
the various bicycle and wagon tracks were suitable to drive their new
fangled cars along and whatt services they could encounter along the way.
