It is time for Perry Butler of Fergus Falls, Minnesota to retire from life as he does not know what he writes, let alone what he reads. I think he may have Alzheimer's Disease, or at least the beginning stages of it. I know for a fact that there is a very good nursing home in Fergus Falls. I urge Perry Butler to avail himself of it. Eddie boy....if you are such an intellectual as you seem to think you are, why can't you find the appropriate forum for your comments? This is a group about recumbent bicycles not a group to expound on Edward Dolan. Go make yourself a group named Edward Dolan and have a ball! To the rest of you....just ignore him he will go away. Or better yet....is there a moderator? If so block his posts. As for me I have far better things to do with my time. I'm out of here. Wow! What a pathetic rant. There are bent posts here when people aren't spouting off about Ed. Where's the recumbent themed post you were going to share with us Ocala...? This looks like your first and last post and all it did was add to the background noise. Shame on you for enticing us to read your lame complaint with a catchy subject title. Whines about "The Troll" - does NOT own a Sunset Lowracer. DOES NOT whine about "The Troll" - OWNS a Sunset Lowracer. Anyone else notice the correlation? Mr. Sherman's love affair with the Sunset Lowracer is quite idiosyncratic. However, I must admit I almost bought one myself some years ago but I could never overcome the high price.... What good is hoarding money (once one has enough for the necessities of food, shelter, clothing and at least one recumbent)? It is not a question of hoarding money, but a question of having enough to live on. The god damn utilities alone are enough to kill you here in Worthington, Minnesota. And the g.d taxes - well, the less said about that the better. Everyone knows that Minnesota is right up there next to Massachusetts when it comes to taxes. Yea, Minnesota , the land of 10,000 taxes. When most USians complain about paying taxes, their real complaint is that some of the tax money goes to people who are not of their race and class. How many of the rich criticize corporate welfare (aka socialism for business) or those of the middle class despise mortgage deductions? Income taxes can be as high as is necessary (as long as you do not kill the golden goose which makes a surplus possible) to support essential social services. What is so unfair are property taxes. They are sky high here in Minnesota. It is also those with the most who complain the loudest; though doubling their taxes would not force any real change in their lifestyle. The egotism of over promoting one's accomplishments, ignoring the good fortune of birth into the proper family and social class, and last but not least, undervaluing the contributions of society and labor in wealth creation is an illness that is destroying this nation and society. I am as poor as a church mouse and have been so all of my life. I am sitting on some downtown property which is not worth much, but I am being taxed to death regardless. By the way, your envy of the rich and well born is unworthy of you. Don't you know that money cannot buy happiness? President Nixon said it best. All you need is a certain minimum amount of money so that you do not have to constantly worry about it. After you have that minimum, you can go on to other things having nothing to do with money. Like ride your recumbents! One must question the patriotism of those who begrudge supporting the common good of the nation. I served 4 years in the Navy as an enlisted man and I think I may have made a maximum of $100. a month. What did you do in that department, pray tell? The Earth Cycles Sunset Lowracer is FUN to look at, FUN to discuss and lastly (and most importantly) FUN to ride. The Sunset Lowracer is also [drum roll] ON TOPIC for alt.rec.bicycles.recumbent, so no one can legitimately complain no matter how many times I mention it. I do not mind anyone mentioning recumbents no matter how often. After all, I have got 12 recumbents myself (3 of them are recumbent trikes). Anyone else on this group even approach this number? butbutbut, the Earth Cycles Sunset Lowracer is the Most Fun Bicycle in the Known Universe! All recumbents are very different from one another and each have their advantages and disadvantages. I can have fun on ALL of my recumbents. So what does this have to do with the fact that I DID include the
piece I was responding to. I can't help it if you use a poor newsreader or don't know how to use one. Its obvious you're still new to computers and how to read newsgroups. Anyone who spends as much time and energy bewailing the lot of the poor and excoriating the lot of the rich is motivated by envy and nothing else. You have more than enough to live on comfortably. Forget about the rich and get on with your life. The rich accumulate money because that is how you keep score. They are more to be pitied than envied. The rich are no different than you and I. They simply have more money. For example, Donald Trump is an asshole. Who would ever say otherwise. Would you want to be him? Rationality, as the primary cognitive system for comprehending our world, has been rejected in favor of unyielding dogmatic belief. - David Michael Green I rejected dogmatic belief when I attained the age of reason, which I think happened when I was about 16 years old. However, for most folks dogmatic belief is a relief as thinking about things on your own is hard work.
