Should buses have Hi-Vis ? Should cyclists look at the road ahead?

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward. Until the police
report on their investigations of the incident why not give the
cyclist the benefit of the doubt and assume some motorist 'cut the
cyclist up' forcing them to crash into the parked bus?

So the cyclist was travelling too fast to be able to stop in the
distance he could see to be clear.

Let's face it, there are half a dozen or more of these each year,
almost always involving bikes with dropped handlebars.

Even if he survives, he may have serious brain injuries. Really, your
post is pretty lacking in humanity.

My thoughts are with the poor bus. I hope the cyclist has
fridge-freezer insurance.

At best, this Cheerless fellow is a sociopath.

Not necessarily.

(Don't begin a paragraph with 'so'.)

Let's face it, there are half a dozen or more of these each year,
almost always involving bikes

Just face it, there are many incidents like this each year, which rarely
involve bikes.

with dropped handlebars.

No relevance in the slightest.

Besides, for most people, most of the time, the bits of bar extending
below the brakes are only for decoration.

(At least the story has cycling content.)

I know you think you are being clever but I have experienced something similar.
A motorist objected to me legally using the ASL and when I wanted to move right to pass an illegally parked car said motorist pulled along side and braked in an attempt to force me into the back of the illegally parked car, it didn't work. I could have challenged the driver when it inevitably got stuck in motor traffic but why add misery to a miserable person.

Not really, I more thought I was merely being fair. I do know, of
course, the cyclist could well have collided with the parked bus
entirely through their own fault. But I equally know the possibility
exists that maybe it wasn't entirely their own fault. It is impossible
to be sure what happened from the facts released in that given report.

Had that happened to me, I wouldn't have challenged the driver either.
That would likely have left me wound up all the more. I would prefer
the smug comfort of confirming that no one else can create negativity
within you, only you can do that by virtue of how you process your
world.

Sometimes it's just a matter of looking at the culprit. Their body
language will indicate whether they understand they made a mistake, in
which case nothing further is required. If they are knowingly doing
something wrong it is probably best to get as much separation from them
as possible.

Better to take it out on the ignorants that infest this group.
