Double Amputee Rider?
Somewhere here alt.mountain-bike or rec.bicycles.tech I read a thread with
reference to somebody who was a double amputee who rode fairly seriously. There's a guy near where I live who is looking for other amputees to put together some sort of team. Anybody know the double guy's name/address? -- PeteCresswell |

He's a world champion in nordic skiing and was I think 5th in track cycling in the '96 paraolympics. He's also one of the strongest mtn bikers in SLC. One or two legs. |

My mother met a chap who'd lost both legs in the Gulf, but rode a recumbent handcycle; the front part detatched to make it a more conventional wheelchair. Sadly, he was unable to complete his planned circuit of Iceland because of the difficulty of fording rivers. -- David Damerell flcl? |

Just that I see a lot of your post in the rec.bicycles.tech newsgroup,
thought you worked in a bike related environment. -tom "David Damerell" wrote in message ... .. what do you do for a living? UNIX sysadmin, but I don't see the relevance to amputee cyclists, to put it mildly. -- David Damerell flcl? |
