Yeah, and notice how real fights are over in seconds and these drag on forever? -Paul I think you're forgetting about the court hearings and civil lawsuits that follow many 'real' fights. And then there's the felony conviction and jail, along with a future of employment limited to fast food restaurants. Magilla |

If the Page family never came to nationals there would have been no fight. Cale McAninch is a racer and probably does this at all the events he goes to. God is going to suspend Page for a year now. ÝIt sure makes the quasi-law discussion much less important. ÝAnd Press may even appreciate it. ÝIt's the basis of how technical stuff gets into being. "Manners are of more importance than laws. Upon them, in a great measure, the laws depend. Manners are what vex or soothe, corrupt or purify, exalt or debase, barbarize or refine us, by a constant, steady, uniform, insensible operation, like that of the air we breathe in." Burke, E.- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - Sandy, You and Carl are decent civilized human beings who realize that to get respect you have to give some. Unfortunately a huge portion of America in particular thinks Jackass, and Lenny Bruce, on stage, are perfect models for full time behavior and interaction with others. What does having respect for someone and allowing comedians to perform their trade have to do with each other? I bet you had Johnny Knoxville been at nationals instead of Wade Book, there would have been no fight and Dicky Sachs bikes would be fine. Vulgarity, volume, and personal attacks lose most or all of their impact when they become the standard. It's called free speech. Howard Stern not only disagrees with you, he doesn't give a ****. O'Grady understands this well, as is evidenced by his current commentary. O'Grady is an idiot in his commentary on this issue because he tries to equate a fan who heckles an athlete as someone who has no respect for the athlete and therefore MUST show respect or suffer a physical assault. Heckling is not the problem. The problem is when you have fans getting in the face of other fans and telling them how to cheer and who to cheer for. That's not only ****ing gay, but it's being a trouble-maker. You sound like you sit at home and watch george Carlin on TV and get angry that he doesn't show any respect for others. What the **** is up with that? Bill C Magilla's case using other sports doesn't hold water because they practice SERIOUS crowd/people control and when and how they are allowed to heckle. Arrests, ejections, stripping of season tickets with no compensation are all way up in the last few years in both the NFL, and MLB for improper fan behavior. Funny, I didn't see any security telling the hecklers on any of those YouTube clips to stop, and the heckling on all those videos was far worse than what Page endured at nationals. You need to go to college and start paying attention to facts and logic. This was a very sloppy post on your part. I suggest you clean up your act or pack your bags. Thanks, Magilla |

If someone can't take it they shouldn't dish it. Here's the problem with that logic. When a fan heckles an athlete, there's always a geographical boundary that cannot be passed. That knowledge makes heckling absolutely safe and nothing but a head game. Athletes are paid millions of dollars to hear the cheers as well as the boos. It's hardly this horrific experience as you people make it out to be. Most professional athletes think the jeers are funny. It's hilarious to me how you people are more upset about someone booing an athlete than the athlete is himself. it appears to be part of a vicarious mentality that you are going to defend the professional athlete. It's a stalker's mentality really. However when a fan decides to heckle another fan, there is no such physically boundary and many end in fights. Also, you can be charged for harassment at most stadiums for heckling another fan because that fan has not done anything to you and they have the right to enjoy the game and cheer/boo as they please. Wheras, there is no similar expectation for an athlete to be free of same. Magilla |

People who should really mind their own ****ing business and stop telling other fans how they should and shouldn't act. You have no right to harass others fans when you go to a sporting event. Fans however, do have a right to harass the players. Magilla |
