So I missed the first race of the year, and I missed frigging
Starcrossed again, so this weekend's double-header will be my first CX
racing of the year.

I am so thrilled. I am also very fat. So this is going to be ugly.

But damn I love CX.

I dragged my poor friend along on a CX trail ride last weekend. Awesome.
He's stronger than me right now, but I'm a substantially better
trail-rider. It was a good trail since it had a lot of stuff on it that
was on the edge of rideability on a CX bike. I was riding more than he
was, but on the other hand he didn't endo into a rock garden.

PS: I use clinchers.

Fred. Next thing you'll be telling us you do your CX
with a camelbak filled with whine.

Mounted on aluminum rims no doubt.

Oh yeah. I'll admit it: if I had the discretionary income, it would be 3
sets of Zipp 404 CXes (file tread, mud, and all-conditions) with
unobtainable bespoke Belgian rubber wrapped around them.

But that would be far too much money for not much added fun. In reality
my future is likely convincing someone in my club to upgrade to Zipp
808s and sell me their old wheels, followed by a biannual penance of
peeling off the CX tires and gluing on road tires, or vice versa.

Or, you know, clinchers on Al rims are fine too,

Heh. That ride was too short to bother with a bottle. Instead, I just
dehydrated.

But my excuse for owning a Camelbak is that it was given to me, not
actively sought out.
