Evans strikes back
Nice race, and it's cool to have a "real" WC for once, not some
sprinter dude who got lucky. As much as Evans has been ridiculed for whining, and unlucky this year, Kohl and Dekker positives, the Dauphine where he faced a Contador/Valverde coalition, the TDF meltdown, the Vuelta puncture, he certainly showed a lot of class today. What a race too, only the best survived and Cancellara showed he's got the legs but not necessarily the brains... |

Ballan ... not a lucky sprinter dude Bettini ... wasn't a bunch sprint either time Boonen ... not really a sprinter dude who gets lucky hmm ... Freire, must have a lot of lucky to do it 3x Cipo? That wasn't luck ... it was a race totally controlled by the Italians and set up to perfection. Cancellara showed he's got the legs but not necessarily the brains... that might be accurate. |

The last one was Olano in 1995, before he was a GC contender actually. Maybe Jalabert would have won that year if he hadn't slacked out. They did take place pretty late if memory serves, October 8th from the top of my head. Cancellara showed he's got the legs but not necessarily the brains... that might be accurate. And herer's the proof : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pICMVTT7rIc I put a little note ;-) |

I watched the video and for sure people marking Indurain helped, but it was a war over the last hour. Very deserving winner. |

I thought there was a final, small-ish group that included Indu and other favorites, and Olano got away and everyone watched Indurain (and Pantani maybe? don't remember who all was there) |
