Default Man hurls abuse and kicks a youngster's cycle

What a big, brave man this knob is.
QUOTE:
A six-year-old girl fell off her bicycle after a couple did not allow her space on a footpath despite repeated calls for them to move.

The moment was captured on video and showed the girl riding down the path with her father shouting 'excuse me' to the man and woman walking their dog.

But the pair don't move and the girl tries to cycle in-between them, before falling off her bike and hitting the man on his leg.

The girl can then be heard crying loudly after the incident on the Blackwell Trail in Nottinghamshire, before the dogwalker kicks her bike and walks off. The girl's mother Michelle Prost posted the incident on Facebook and was inundated with messages of support, later posting an update saying she had reported the matter to police.

Nottinghamshire Police said its 'keen to speak to anyone who may have seen what happened or recognises those in the footage.' The footage shows the girl riding down Blackwell Trail yesterday with her father.

After the collision her father confronts the man and angrily shouts 'I said excuse me several times' before the two men row about what happened.

The six-year-old can be heard crying as the male dog walker kicks her bike while walking away.

Her mother said her daughter had been 'traumatised' by the incident.

She claimed that the male dog walker had retorted 'so f***ing what'. Ms Prost posted the video with the caption: 'So this couple purposely ignore my 6 year old daughter ringing her bell and saying excuse me.

'She starts screaming and wobbling in panic.

'The man turns and looks at my daughter, then the couple look at each other but continue to ignore her on purpose. She then rides into them in panic.

'She is new to going on bike rides, this has really upset her. The man gets verbally abusive and says 'so f***ing what?'. 'What an awful man. My daughter is traumatised. They clearly have an issue with cyclists and were making a point of not moving.'

She later wrote: 'I'm so mad about how shaken up she is hours later. Absolutely disgusting to make a little girl feel threatened'.

Posting an update, Ms Prost said: 'Thank you for all the messages of support. My daughter is ok, hopefully we'll get her back out riding soon to help her move on from it.

'It has been reported to the police.' Social media users piled in on the couple, with accusations of 'absolutely terrible', 'disgusting' and 'horrible' flying about.

A number of people had told Ms Prost to report them to police.

One wrote 'what an absolute p****! Poor kid, hope she's okay', while another said: 'That is absolutely terrible! Hope she is okay.'

Detective Superintendent Kev Broadhead said: 'Nottinghamshire Police is keen to speak to anyone who may have seen what happened or recognises those in the footage so that officers can establish the circumstances surrounding this incident.

'As more people are walking and cycling in line with the government's new guidance, we would encourage everyone to be aware of their surroundings and to be considerate of other people using paths and parks so that social distancing can be maintained.'

The man taking the video should have restrained his daughter from
harassing the couple and their poor dog.

It's another case where a parent thinks other people have taken on
responsibity for teaching their children good behaviour. Why should they
make allowances if he won't restrain his own child?

Strange that the father's priority was to take out his smartphone and
record his lack of parenting rather than be a responsible parent and tell
his daughter to stop her bike. "What a big, brave man this knob is."

The mother posted on Bristol Cyclists Facebook to say "this couple
purposely ignore my 6 year old daughter ringing her bell and saying excuse
me". I wasn't aware I had to stop walking and immediately give way on a
path when any cyclist rings a bell behind me.

It's intriguing the Daily Mail journalist claims the couple kick the girl
off her bike because it'snot what happens. The little girl falls off her
bike after riding dangerously close to injuring one or the other of the
couple:

Foul mouthed big ugly man gets "harassed" by a 6 year old girl?

Don't be silly.

He should get arrested for a public order offence (using the f word) and criminal damage at least when he gets caught by the police.

"Arrested"?!
The brat should not have been on the path in the first place, you know that
as well as I do. Pedestrians do not give way to cyclists when they are
walking on a pedestrian path. Her father is a disgrace.

It doesn't say you are obliged to give way to poorly supervised children.
The child had poor control of her bike and after striking the couple could
have gone on to strike the dog who may have then responded. Social services
should investigate why the child wasn't properly supervised.

This is the sort of trouble poor parents create. You can also see it when
their children grow up to become unruly teenagers.

Maybe if she had been threatened with a chisel?

They were both saying "please excuse me" very politely indeed.
