Surrey Police are targeting inconsiderate cyclists in the Box Hill area as
the roads become every more popular for riding.
A Police spokesperson said that this action was taken due to "quite a lot of
anti-social cycling in the area." When asked to confirm what anti-social
cycling was, they said it applied to those who were riding more than two
abreast, or in big groups, and causing cars to slow down

and what a pity the increase in numbers is accompanied by a reduction in
standards.

Oh my God! Heaven forbid that cars should be slowed down! Of course,
the majority of cops are car users themselves and that is obviously
why they consider it such a problem, while I as a cyclist do not at
all. Indeed, slower cars are safer cars, except maybe to each other!

But isn't this yet another example of extra-judicial policing? The
police decide what crime it is and then decide to enforce it without
even consulting the justice system in the first place? Another example
of extra-judicial policing I have been reminded of this morning, in
connection with something else, is the police filtering of evidence,
which sometimes happens.

What is, deliberately riding in a way that causes cars to slow down? Why,
yes it is!

The IPCC exists to deal with that.

The NHS exist to deal with mental health issues. High time you
contacted them.
