Brake lits for those that like gadgets :p
Someone is flogging off 500 pairs of brake blocks with integrated LED

If you look at the second pic they look to have big plastic switches on the block face. That's gotta be noisy and reduce the braking ability. and let's face it, no one's going to notice these LEDs. You're quite right, each block has a button on the face that switches the light on when it gets pressed against the rim. I tried a pair 2 or 3 years ago when Kinetics were selling them off cheap (considerably cheaper than the guy selling them on eBay). They were passable blocks, but not great, and the lights weren't particularly bright (a single LED in each block). Think I will stick with my coolstops. As the backs of my rear brake pads normally have a great wedge of aluminium sludge and road dirt, they would be useless. |
