Dear Hillclimb Pro:

In light of Jens Voigt's crash yesterday, do you think that the PRO peloton
should start wearing full-face helmets??? Jens probably wouldn't be facing
surgery on his smashed cheekbone if he was wearing a full-face helmet.

Sincerely,
Chico

Do you truly think TD is misguided in his observations?
Do you actually think helmets are a bad idea?
Jens' doctor think he owes his life to his helmet.

Oh, never mind, this is going to get out of hand quickly.

Q: Do you truly think TD is misguided in his observations?

A: Yes, because I don't need to wear my ****ing helmet when I ride 10 miles
per hour from my house to the Country Market in Estes Park.

Q: Do you actually think helmets are a bad idea?

A: No, helmets are the greatest idea ever when I'm bike racing.

Statement: Jens' doctor think he owes his life to his helmet.

Comment: Jens Voigt probably owes his life to his helmet. I am glad he had
to wear one. I hope he recovers fast and gets back into the peloton soon.
Helmets should always be worn in a bike race and on training rides and
especially when you're riding with inexperienced riders that you don't know.
But I want to have the right to choose to wear a helmet if I noodle over to
the Country Market or even to downtown Estes.

Do you actually think that if something isn't a bad idea, then it
should be done?

Or at least people that don't do it should be mocked and called out?

Helmets help the overhead shots. Maybe if some people would review the
overheads to note that AC 'the man without a team' sitting in behind
three or four Astana riders on most of the stages most of the way, we
could end some of the REAL nonsense.

And if there's someone who is an expert at crash dynamics it's a doctor.
