QUOTE=Slacker On Fri, 13 Aug 2004 11:08:56 -0700, Man, that stuff would tear you a new one if you fell hard on it. Why is that one freak going the wrong way?!?!? -- Slacker The second time I rode the MRT a guy I'll ride with once in a while now (but very new to mtbs at that time) bounced his bad self off some of that nice stuff (no protection other than his helmet and gloves despite some advice to "be careful"). He required something like 15 or 16 (?) stitches, several cold ones and over a year before he could find the stones to ride an mtb again. It almost took the will to ride out of someone that (now) rides damn well and often. K. -- ireman_1 |

I was a horrible enough rider ;-) before my "latest" shoulder crushing incident. I don't want to know how sketch I'll be riding when I finally get back on a bike for "real." We just have to take comfort in that old axiom: Chicks dig scars. Side bar: As my wife read this over my shoulder just now she chuckled and patted (?) me on the head, nice. K. -- ireman_1 |
