And she's a great rider. A great, badass rider.

I have never seen Judith Arndt in person cause she has never been to the
west coast, I don't think. I haven't seen anything indicating retirement,
still captain of Colombia. I don't have time to root for anyone, cause I'm
holding the camera. I just get race report details and photos. If riders
want to talk about their personal lives, they do so in interviews, but I
don't have much time to travel or do interviews. One of the worlds best ever
has agreed to do a full candid interview with photos and such, but I'm not
sure when I will get time to do it. Perhaps next year.

I don't know how long I plan to stay in cycling, as some of these guys have
been around forever like Les, Bob or Tom, but I won't even be doing this
after a few years time. After I finish up some historical context and
publish a book, I am qutting cycling lock stock and barrel, and I won't be
looking back. When I enter retirement, I want no obligations, and especially
not cycling. Its extremely time consuming to keep up with, and I want to
travel for a few years and see the world, including the Pyramids,
Smithsonian-Washington DC area, Miss Liberty, visit France and Italy,
Ireland and Scotland. I also want to see Alaska and the Ice Glaciers that
are breaking away.

There is much I want to see yet and do. I'm not a life long diehard for
cycling, as other adventures lay ahead.

Stevie, it already did a long time ago. I doubt that cycling will ever
recover to the former days of glory. Germany is basically saying **** on it.

It would be interesting to find out what the comparative attendence
figures will be for the German sixes this winter.

That's all very interesting, but I'm not sure I understand what the
Pyramids have to do with it all. I'm asking how you feel about the
fact that a significant proportion of the female peloton is
homosexual. You definitely know more about female cycling than almost
anyone, so I was wondering if you know of any riders who are
definitely 'out.' Also, I want to know if it changes the way you
think about a rider if you know she is gay?

Probably a much smaller number then you think, but I see bike racers glaring
by at high speed behind a camera lens.

Riders out...

Retired...

Nathalie Bates
Miho Oki
Olivia Gollan
Vera Carrara
Silvia Parietti
Oenone Wood
Sara Carrigan
Christine Thorburn
Priska Doppman
Magali Le Floc'h
Pia Sundstedt
Rasa and Jolanta
Anke Wichmann

Also, I want to know if it changes the way you

think about a rider if you know she is gay?

It doesn't really matter what I think about that, and they certainly don't
care what I think. Like I said, all I see is riders fully clad racing by at
glaring speeeeeeeeed!

The Munich Six attendance was flat, leading the promoter to wonder if
they will be able to hold it next year. Wah wah, so attendance didn't
grow this year, Dieter wants to take his toys and go home. I couldn't go
this time due to work commitments and a persistent fever. Plus I wasn't
so excited about the pairings, but if I didn't have a fever I would have
gone at least on Sunday.
