Default Cyclist films woman in driver's seat of car with both hands on a phone

QUOTE:
"After Mr Sherry posted the video to YouTube others joined him in condemning the woman's behaviour.

Craig Jones said:2 hours ago West Bromwich, England "The fact they hold it so low, out of sight, blatantly shows they know they shouldn't be doing it."

An AA spokesman said: "The epidemic of hand held mobile phone use while driving has already cost lives and drivers are demanding action.

"Three quarters of AA members say they see other drivers using mobile phones on some or most journeys, with one quarter seeing it on every journey according to our polls.

"There is absolutely no excuse for using a hand held mobile telephone particularly in a busy shopping street with pedestrians, cyclists and other traffic.

"The government is right to consult on ramping up the penalties in 2016 but we also need more drivers caught in the act."

"we also need more drivers caught in the act"

REALLY?

I wonder why we "need" that?

I'd rather no-one broke the law.

Wouldn't you?

I actually agree with you on this one.

The ideal number of prosecutions per day for using a mobile phone whilst driving is zero.
Same applies to all crime.

Changing attitudes is the answer, not stricter enforcement.

Until drivers can be trusted to obey the law, enforcement is necessary.

Or does ASDA take down its CCTV and try and change the attitudes of thieves and shoplifters instead?

Won't work - only punishment works, otherwise criminal drivers will just laugh at the law even more than they already do.

That is the attitude of a Police state.
Like caning in schools, violence breeds violence.

Read "Lord of the Flies" to see what happens with no authority, laws and accountability.

The bad guys get away with it and the vulnerable suffer.

In a perfect world we would not need speed cameras, parking wardens, breath testers, ANPR, insurance databases, MOT's, etc, but until then, we do.

Research the Stamford prison experiment.

Good - so you will be in favour of enforcing the law regarding cyclists on
pavements and riding through red lights.

Glad we have cleared that up.
