Hopefully the driver was licensed and insured. Many hit and run drivers are
not which can make them difficult to trace.

Compo. is still available through the uninsured driver scheme, which would
also apply if the driver cannot be traced.

How can he possibly not be traced? After all he is registered,
licensed, taxed........

Why is the victim looking for the driver, I would have thought this was a
police matter.

Had it been a policeman knocked off his bike they would have traced the car
in ten minutes.
