Default Gang of cyclists attack 77 year old

Mr Murphy, from Basingstoke, Hants, was attacked by the yobs on bikes
when he was returning home from Lidl on Saturday night.
He said: "I heard a cyclist coming, so I went to move out of the way
then suddenly it was ‘whack’ ‘whack’ ‘whack’ around the head.
"Next thing I was on the floor and my shopping had gone."
He was left on the ground in pain while the thugs cycled off "laughing
and shouting" with his shopping.

As I read it. The elderly gentleman was on the footpath when he "heard a
cyclist coming". I doubt that he was walking in the road. He went to move
out of the way and was assaulted and robbed by four footpath riding lumps of
**** on their silly bicycles.
Some of the cycling dickheads here disapprove of me going out tooled up -
just in case a footpath riding piece of **** fancies his chances.
I'm no youngster, but I would delight in taking two out of four lumps of
**** down.
This is not a pikey area, but the infestation of scum psycholists has began.
There is an elderly lady who walks to the corner shop holding her purse, it
is just a matter of time before a lump of **** on a bicycle robs her.

I am really glad of my silly bicycle.
So you are advocating violence?
That is a crime.

I am not advocating anything, all I have said is that I will defend myself
if attacked.
Bloody hell you are thick!

Posts about a "Gang of cyclists" on their bicycles aren't about cycling?

How does that work?

I will never get the hang of the written charter for this group, oh yes,
there isn't one.

So if I understand it correctly, a posting about some cyclists in the uk
is nothing to do with cycling in the UK and should not be posted on
uk.rec.cycling?

What should be posted here?

According to usenet:

"uk.rec.cycling Discussion of UK cycling issues"

So UK cyclists and how they are using their bicycles is not suitable here?
