I'm hoping that I'm totaly wrong, and Obama will be one of the greatest Presidents in US history and wildly successful for eight years. Anyone hoping for a disaster is a complete dickhead and unfortunately they are out there, just as they were for Bush. People would rather see the Country go down the toilet rather than waver in their ideology. Obama has the overwhelming support of the people, I'm seeing 79% this morning, a friendly Congress for the most part, and a huge desire from people for the system and the way things have been done to be totally changed, so he's got the best chance any President in recent history has had, by a large margin. Bush was sworn to uphold, and defend the Constitution and failed pretty miserably, I hope Obama does better, but I have real reservations on how that'll work out, as you know. He doesn't trash the Constitution and he'll have my backing to try and fix this mess we are in now. I think he's in a much better position to deal with things internationally right now to so there's definitely a lot of hope out there. The only traitorous, un-American thing out there today is people hoping that his Presidency will be a disaster. They go well with the scum who were hoping and praying for hundreds of thousands of US body bags flowing out of Iraq and Afghanistan so that they could use it against Bush. Of course the fact that I think American Presidents, and US foreign policy should be about doing things that are good for the US has ****ed off some of the folks here too. Enjoy the day. Bill C Just a note to Kurgan. We can only hope that Bush serves as an everlasting bad example and that ****'s NOT repeated. Still hoping they put a bunch of those scumbags in Leavenworth where they belong. |

The death, destruction, and trillions of dollars of economic wreckage they caused just keeps coming: Tuesday, January 20, 2009, 10:01am EST Job growth under Bush was worst since WWII Jacksonville Business Journal - by G. Scott Thomas "President George W. Bush will leave office Tuesday with the worst employment-growth record of any president since World War II, according to a new analysis by Bizjournals. The nation’s job base grew at an annual rate of 0.28 percent during Bush’s eight years as president – by far the slowest pace for any of the 11 presidents in the postwar era, according to Bizjournals. Bizjournals is the online media arm of American City Business Journals, The Business Review's parent company. The previous low had been set by Bush’s father, George H.W. Bush, with an annual job-growth rate of 0.59 percent." Dumbass - Come on now, don't dwell on the negative. History will remember W Bush for his foreign policy achievements, namely his initiation of the 2003 Iraq War on the justification from a threat of Imagined Weapons of Mass Destruction (IWMD). It is a feat that may never again be duplicated. thanks, K. Gringioni. Sure it will. Look at the kooks who claim there was no holocaust. |

So congrats to all of you who supported Obama, I'd rather see JC Watts taking the oath tomorrow, but that's neither here nor there. Obama's got a honeymoon like noone since JFK, lets all hope he lives up to Dr. Kings legacy, and dreams and will be able to chart a course. let's hope it's a better, wiser one than the last 8 years. For tomorrow at least let's all celebrate a historic step forward in making this a better Country. Hope someone, like Kerry send his ball playing ass a new road bike though and gets him a new passion. Even a good commuter/hybrid would be a great statement, call it the Calfee, Obama 1 green machine, Dr. prescribed for fitness and stress relief. Hope some of you were planning to, and are able to go be a part of this incredible piede of history. Bill C Uh, yeah, thanks, what he said... I think! *:) Don't count on him dropping basketball in favor of cycling though. He's a creature of habit; just look at his refusal to stop using his Blackberry. *I think Obama, more than any recent President, is going to acutely feel the aloneness, at times, of being President. Not being able to just call or email the usual suspects and talk things through. Having to be concerned that everything is monitored, paticularly the trappings of modern technology that he's surrounded himself with. Let's just hope he at least manages to stop smoking. I'm not so sure about the honeymoon either. He's already in trouble with his own party over aspects of the bailout, and his Secretary of State pronounced to the world how happy she was to have a Democratic President and a Democratic Congress. So much for bipartisanship. Sure. Old Condi was the picture of cooperation and bipartisanship. Remarkable number of Repubs who STILL think Iraq was and is a good idea. Same for Rummy. The only 'hope' the Bush presidency had was Powell and they dumped(Cheny) on him. I'm glad he voted with his feet. The first half of the 'bailout' is MISSING. NO accountability. Great job by Sec Paulsen. Another wealthy guy asleep on watch. This administration was a disaster, with a capital 'I' (for Iraq). Bush, good ole boy he was, was duped by chenyrummy and Co. It's not going to be easy, but I think, more than any other recent President, that he knew the job was dangerous before he took it. --Mike Jacoubowsky Chain Reaction Bicycleswww.ChainReaction.com Redwood City & Los Altos, CA USA |

My guess is that you're going to have an entirely different opinion of Bush and his time in office by the end of 2012. Let's remember that they called Harry Truman every name in the book until history showed that he was right most of the time. The first half of the 'bailout' is MISSING. NO accountability. Great job by Sec Paulsen. Another wealthy guy asleep on watch. Psst - the money is controlled by CONGRESS. Try to keep up here Peter. You ought to know better than that. This administration was a disaster, with a capital 'I' (for Iraq). Bush, good ole boy he was, was duped by chenyrummy and Co. Frankly I'm shocked that you couldn't tell that Bush stepped into the middle of a growing world threat and stopped it cold. |

Perhaps you could go back to listening to NPR for your clear-eyed view of the world around you. I'm hoping that I'm totaly wrong, and Obama will be one of the greatest Presidents in US history and wildly successful for eight years. Anyone hoping for a disaster is a complete dickhead and unfortunately they are out there, just as they were for Bush. The Democrats SCREAMED that Reagan added to much money to the National Debt. Now they almost cheered that Bush ****ed away 5 times that amount and they ARE cheering that Obama intends to spend TWICE Bush's amount. Hey, maybe you think that simply adds onto an IOU like the rest of the dopes here instead of our currency being devalued. Bush was sworn to uphold, and defend the Constitution and failed pretty miserably, I hope Obama does better, but I have real reservations on how that'll work out, as you know. What part of the Constitution was it that he failed to uphold? Just a note to Kurgan. We can only hope that Bush serves as an everlasting bad example and that ****'s NOT repeated.
