Should be objective case (me).

Nope. It's "Better than I (am)". The "am" is understood.

Another way is to reverse it. "I (am) better than (he)(is)(better)..."

It is not healthy to drop so much weight so fast. I figure that he's using
that carb blocker pill and I am wary of that myself. I don't think that
there's enough experience with it to trust that sort of thing in an aging
body.

What part of the drugstore do I find carb blocker pills? Is 48 too old to
start taking them?

Rated by many as the best rider of all time, Eddy Merckx now believes that a
sixth Tour win gives Lance Armstrong the right to that title.

. . . .On a personal note, the svelte-looking Merckx said that he had lost 25
kilos in recent months thanks to frequent mountain bike excursions and a new
diet.

Eddy Merckx won all his races against a peloton of amateurs and
overrated pros with inflated image by today's cycling fans. If Eddy
Merckx rode in today's peloton, he would in all probability be pack-fill.

Eddy Merckx won all his races because 90% of the field in the 1970's
worked in factories in the off-season and weren't even as talented or
dedicated as most of today's domestic $12k dreamers. Eddy Merckx beat a
bunch of 9-5 factory workers and maybe a handful of pros who if alive
today would be no-name domestiques on Liquigas.

And today, he's a bigmouth who cries when his son gets gapped in the
last 20K of a World Cup race.

Take that all you Eddy Merckx worshippers who live in denial,

Magilla

P.S. Lance beats serious athletes - many on the juice - and laughs at
Eddy Merckx and Greg LeMond when he gets home to Austin because he knows
he could kick their ****ing ass if he ever raced them in their prime.

I'd give Merckx a pass on the grammar, given the class he's shown.

Is it Merckx or some translator? He was speaking at the Spanish cycling
journalism awards.

My thoughts exactly.... the last time I saw him speak it was in
Flemish. I read this story in French myself, and there are differences
in the quotes between the different versions I've read (english,
french).
