Default What ever happened to Petacchi????

Stage 2 - August 25: Bolsward - Nijverdal, 182.5km
Results
1 Max van Heeswijk (Ned) US Postal Service - Berry Floor 4.11.36
2 Alexandre Usov (Blr) Phonak Hearing Systems
3 Stefan van Dijk (Ned) Lotto-Domo
4 Rudi Kemna (Ned) BankGiroLoterij
5 Alessandro Petacchi (Ita) Fassa Bortolo

Bet Petacchi wouldn't survive a day in the drug-infested US Criterium scene.

2003 seemed like a 'special' year for a lot of racers
And it seemed to continue until the HGH and hemoglobin tests were finalized
(for the TDF).

What in the hell is that supposed to mean? Every year since 1987 has been
"special", ever since they overhauled the points system to give each and
every rider an incentive to place as high as possible as often as possible.
How was 2003 any different? I suppose you are just another dude that thinks
he can spot cheaters by comparing results. It is hard for anyone to win all
year, for sprinters as much as for GC guys.

2003 was different because Petacchi suddenly won so much (like some other
racers). What I ment by the '(for the TDF)' part was the 2004 TDF, not 2003.
But yes, since the late 80s, there were many cases each year like what we
saw in 2003.
