Police were called on Friday evening May 15 to the junction of
Woolwich Road and the Kent-bound A102 in Greenwich following a
collision between a lorry and a female pedal cyclist, a police
spokesman said.

London Ambulance Service attended. The woman was pronounced dead at
the scene. Police had not yet been able to establish her identity.

The lorry did not stop at the scene. It is described as having blue
material (e.g. canvas, or plastic sheeting) on its side. Anyone who
witnessed the collision or has information that may assist police
should call the Collision Investigation Unit at Catford Traffic Garage
on 020 8285 1574.

How long do you leave it there before you remove it?

Don't you think it could add to the injuries of any cyclist turning
left and becoming trapped between a lorry and the railings?

The BMA view of helmets:

The BMA (British Medical Association) urges legislation to make the wearing of cycle helmets compulsory for both adults and children.

the wrong way down a slip road from a road where cycling is
prohibited.

So what is the position of car-haters on lorries? Are they "OK" or
not? Presumably they are, since otherwise shops wouldn't get
deliveries etc, and even the car-haters aren't so short-sighted as to
not see that. But don't all those anti-motorist measures that the car-
haters advocate also impact on lorries?

What's the "solution", I wonder? Maybe lorries should be exempted
from pointlessly low anti-motorist speed limits and cameras? Maybe
they should be automatically given green lights at congestion-causing
traffic lights? Maybe they should be allowed into anti-motorist bus
lanes? Maybe pointless double yellow lines shouldn't apply to them?
Or here's a revolutionary idea: why not GET RID OF THE ****ING ANTI-
MOTORIST MEASURES ALTOGETHER?

And then there's the laughable assumption that cyclists never cycle
the wrong way down one-way streets (especially in London, where
they're foolishly thinking of legalising such behaviour "because so
many people do it"). I've never seen a cyclist on a road where
cycling's prohibited, but I'm in no doubt that it happens, given the
attitude of many of the cyclists on here that cyclists should never be
stopped from doing anything due to their using a morally superior form
of transport.

I'm in favour of collisions and other incidents being publicised to
highlight the dangers so that those with responsibility can do something
about it.

However, it is something of a political campaign (note the small "p") and so
I wonder if hosting it on a site intended to provide instruction and
guidance to cyclists (strictly non-political) is a good idea, especialy as
there are many free picture hosting web sites available?
