I like the crumple zone at the front of the bike, the rider is less likely to be injured if he runs into something or someone, so really, having two kids in front of you is a good safety feature. Unfortunately the Police officer was not familiar with the law or the rider could have been prosecuted. Why do you want him to be prosecuted? -- A weekend wasted is not a wasted weekend. |

Bertie Wooster writes:
Clue: we are not in Copenhagen. Relevance: we'd like cycle infrastructure to be like that of Copenhagen. No. The LCC plebs voted for `go Dutch'. It's only the LCC inner circle (and their paymasters at the council, naturally) who are desperately trying to downgrade this to `go Danish' as though their charity-hopping jobs depend on it (which they might well). Terms like `continental' and `Dutch-style' in the press releases are the dead giveaway. -- Mark |

They also stopped 100 cyclists, who were given safety advice. =====/Quote===== 15 out of 70 (21%) lorry drivers were guilty of an offence. 100 out of 100 cyclists (100%) were not guilty of an offence. How do you know? OK - so one or two lorry drivers may elect to attend a magistrates' court, plead innocent, and be found innocent. The others, according to our new resident barista, are guilty by accepting the FPN. |

You can be guilty of an offence without a case having to go to court (which was your little trap wasn't it?) Just because the police let them off does not make them not guilty. Yes it does. Innocent until proven guilty is a fundamental aspect of British justice. |

Does he really think that his children are safe in that thing. Typical psycholist mentality: I have a right to do what I like on the road, and if it kills someone else - well tough. (Waiting for Crispin to tell us that many people use such things in Holland. here is a clue for him: we are not in Holland) Wrong again. Many people use such things in Copenhagen. |
