RC, et al,

1. Are you surprised Horner did so well today? I'm not.
2. You think Cunego is the nest big thing?

1. No
2. I was on the bandwagon early, but I'm an eternal optimist about people until
they prove me wrong. I think he's got more overall potential than Boonen.

I didn't see the race and I'm not smart enough to divine how well someone
is riding simply from the final standings, so I usually (try to) refrain
from sharing opinions of that sort unless I've actually watched it.

What a Michael Moore Dumbass............

Actually, that's a Ronald Reagan quote. It's true. You can look it up.
I've substituted "George W. Bush" for "Jimmy Carter" but those are
words straight from Reagan's mouth.

Incidently, I think Reagan was as wrong in blaming Carter as the people
who blame Bush for the economy for the last 4 years. Presidents just
don't have that much control over the economy. That's a good thing,
actually. But I hesitate to call Reagan a "Dumbass" like you just did.

No, while I am certainly outraged by things Kerry says, and what he has
done, I
am not attempting to equate a misdirected senator with a brutal dictator.
I
don't think John Kerry has a criminal mind or bad intentions. I do think
he,
and the anti-individualists of the "left wing" are so poorly informed and
educated that their ideology is _dangerous_ and moreover is anti-thetical
to the
individualistic foundations of our country.

Precisely! George Bush, like his father is a rich Liberal. His ideas about
One World Government were tempered somewhat by the reaction his father
recieved with them but nevertheless Bush isn't the person I would have
picked given a choice.

But when run against John Kerry there's no contest at all. I'll hold my nose
and vote Bush every time. I will NEVER forgive Kerry for his actions after
Vietnam. For his false statements to the Senate denigrating US troops. And
later for his Chairmanship of the Senate Select Committee on POW/MIA
Affairs. The CIA testified, "It's not a question of whether there are still
POW's in Vietnam, but how many." Kerry's report said there were no POW's and
then he ordered all of the gathered evidence destroyed. And then his cousin
was awarded the exclusive foreign rights to sell real estate in Vietnam.

The anti-individualistic quotes of past dictators is to demonstrate the
practical effect of "group think." Ted Kennedy and others with similar
anti-individual statements have no idea what they are talking about. For
all
the complaints of Bush's stupidity, it is incomprehensible how such
anti-thetical statements of complete ignorance can slide by, and
socialists like
Kennedy and Kerry can actually be elected to federal office in the United
States! But yet it happens.

You would think that bicycle riders would be pretty strong individualists -
after all, I can't go on a ride without the first AH I see trying to race me
somewhere. You'd think that Democrats would want to work together, but
instead it's all "I'm better than you because I could climb this hill faster
than you." Hell, that's a Republican line ain't it?

The Nature of the Slow Drift:

"The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the
name of
'liberalism' they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program,
until one
day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it
happened." --
Norman Thomas

"We can't expect the American People to jump from Capitalism to Communism,
but
we can assist their elected leaders in giving them small doses of
Socialism,
until they awaken one day to find that they have Communism." -- Nikita
Khrushchev

Americans can't read these lines with any clarity any more. The news media
have worked long and hard to dissuade anyone from believing that hard core
socialism exists anywhere in the world anymore.

I might rib him a little, though.

Dude, in case you haven't noticed, I'm on a mission. I am sharply
critical of
the collectivist tendencies of the Democrat party (since they actually
have a
chance of being elected), and I think the ignorance excuse is pretty much
played
out. Collectivism is currently public enemy #1. Let's give it the death
penalty. Slay Leviathan.

I'm personally tired of empty suits in the White House but I don't see much
chance of someone with ethics, morals and good taste running any time soon.

I'm not inclined to defend Carter but I was unaware of him being
anti-semitic. Is that a reference to something from the Camp David
accords or military sales to Egypt and Saudi Arabia or something more

From back then and his expressed respect and apreciation of the 70's Arafat
and PLO.
There's been a lot of discussion of it.
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&i...+anti-semitism

My belief is that he is a decent human being who is naive, and a deluded
funadamentalist born again christian. I'd like his thoughts on Gibson's
"Pasion".

(I asked):

Kerry is more antithetical to the very foundations of our country than

Bush?

(gw replied):

Without question. Listen to what they say. Watch what they do. Kerry is
for government solving all our problems, and actually believing that it
can
actually achieve that goal as if he could actually know and thus design
the
purpose of civilisation!!! Bush is less so.

But still antithecal (or anti-ethical)?

My take is that "getting the government off our backs" means giving the
buck-aneers (including Neil Bush, also divorced due to marital infidelity)
open
access to the S&L's and now Social Security, while making sure that anyone
who
rents The Tin Drum from the local Lackluster Video store is prosecuted to
the
full extent of the law...

When has anything liked this happened Tom? Can't you separate your
imagination from reality? On the other hand, Democrats (virtually all
Liberals now) have blocked sorely needed appelate court justices for no
particular reasons than they could.

Kerry has said that he wouldn't require a litmus test for Supreme Court
Justices but then said that he would NEVER allow anyone that wasn't
"pro-choice" to be submitted for that position (a litmus test).

Kerry, when asked about appointing Supreme Court Justices said that he would
appoint Justices who would interpret the Constitution according to the laws.
Duhhhhh - the entire PURPOSE of the Supreme Court is to interpret the LAWS
according to the Constitution!

Since Kerry is a lawyer, there's no chance that he didn't know what he was
saying.

The Democrats act as if reformation of social security and simplifying
tax code (both pushed by Bush) are "bad things." It is unbelievable.

Well damn, when "reforming" Social Security means taking away (stealing)
benefits that have been paid for, and "simplifying" the tax codes means
giving
the rich even more than they have already, "it's real believable" to me
that
we're seeing a difference of opinion. --TP

No it doesn't. Bush had a plan in which SS would slowly be put back in the
hands of the people who are paying for it. It appeared to be a good plan (if
it was economically sound which I never was able to find out) and yet it was
never given a fair showing since the Democrats tried to use it as scare
tactics for election purposes.

The future generations were sold out because Kerry wanted power.

You don't understand how SS works. It's a pyramid scheme.

I understand that the money paid in has been stolen.

Then you understand nothing at all. There NEVER was a Social Security Fund.
Each year the spending has exceeded the total government income. SS funds go
straight into the general fund and are used to cover government debts which
happen to include present SS costs.

More mouth foaming - the rich pay the majority of the taxes in this
country.

As well they should, having used "the system" to their great benefit.

You see it as beneficial to pay almost all of the taxes?
