I think LA is skipping the TDF this year to focus on the hour record

You gotta wonder who in Poland came up with the idea of making a velodrome
look like a fish.

Is that building next to it supposed to be a minnow?

Banana Slammer,

Usually true, but...

If one is riding at the blue band going
into the turn, what the **** are you talking about with this
uphill ****?

Riding "at" the blue band on most tracks is almost impossible. With
practice you might very close, but the design and marking of most tracks
is planned to prevent your doing so.

Only one design of track in the world can be ridden "at" the blue band
without rise and fall between the straights and turns - the V96SG.

V96SG has patented the 'zero-bubble' blue band - positioning it high
enough on the surface to provide an easily ridable line very extremely
close to the certified measurement, with almost no rise and fall between
the straights and banking.

You are correct in saying the blue band is level, but it is usually
painted on the flat non-ridable part of the apron, or at the transition
between the apron and banking marking the inner edge of the pole lane.
If the pole lane starts at that edge, the lowest ridable line will rise
and fall between the banking and straights, and may even come so close
to the apron that to hug the inner edge increases the likelyhood of
pedal contact with the apron.

snip

None of this applies at the blue band. Very few pursuits and hour
record attempts are ridden at the rail. What the **** are you
talking about?

While most track riders know there is an 'ideal' line between the
measurement line and blue band (shortest legal path), the universal
reason to ride there is to avoid adding unnecessary distance and time.

On only one type of track (V96SG - Frisco Superdrome, Centennial Oympic
in Bromont, CAN) is that path level.
