Now, I'm hoping to find more specific info such as: How specific do you need for a 4km prologue in a place that ain't that big? Just take the metro to the Mairie d'Issy and you'll be able to find the race, no problem. The exact route will be online sometime (and printed in that morning's L'Equipe) but you won't need it--they'll almost surely start and finish within a few blocks of the Mairie and loop around the Fort at the top of the hill. You won't need to show up too far ahead of time, either. |

* What time does the race start?
13:45, that is 1:45 in the afternoon * Does one need to be there hours early to get a good viewing spot? How long will the race be? one minute splits -- 3 hours? The best thing to do is wander around the course on side streets. The finish area will likely be fenced off but you can get close enough to see what you're looking for. The last rider goes at 4:32 * Is it worth showing up early, i.e. are the riders hanging around the team buses, etc.? Yes, there will be activity in the area, but don't be too early--it can be a long, cold day.Team busses will be scattered wherever they can get a place to park. You might like to hang around the start area for a while and then wander over to the finish. As riders finish the course they will ride back to their busses and occasionally will stop for chat. * Is there are website with a map of the prologue route? the other responses cover this. You've found a good map. |
