Default Boasting about SPEEDING

If there's one thing that angers me almost as much as SPEEDING does,
then it's petrolheads who come onto newsgroups like this and attempt
to justify doing it. It is quite bad enough that you deliberately
choose to drive too fast and endanger the lives of cyclists,
pedestrians and other drivers just so that you can arrive at your
destination a few seconds faster. You could at least be honest about
it and admit that it's a purely selfish behaviour.

But no! Instead we get endless rubbish about how 'speeding is OK' and
'going too fast is acceptable'. We get endless meaningless numbers
about how accidents supposedly aren't caused by going too fast and
speed cameras are supposedly just a tax on the (lawbreaking) motorist.
We all know that this is RUBBISH and that speeding is dangerous. IT IS
OBVIOUS to anyone who isn't an idiot or a petrolhead. Slow down and
everyone will be safer - it's not rocket science.

If you must speed and endanger lives, and it makes you feel like
you've got a large member, then you go ahead and do that, big man. But
why do you have to then come and boast about it on here and make out
that it is somehow a legitimate and unselfish way to drive? Don't you
know that children read this newsgroup? Do you want to encourage them
to think that driving too fast is acceptable? If you speed then you
BREAK THE LAW. You commit a CRIMINAL OFFENCE. YOU ARE A CRIMINAL. Stop
endangering lives, stop trying to justify it and stop being a
worthless irresponsible piece of scum. You know who you are.

If there's one thing that angers me almost as much as cycling on the footway

newsgroups like this and attempt to justify doing it. It is quite bad enough

OK' and 'ignoring the safety of pedestrians is acceptable'. We get endless
meaningless numbers about how accidents supposedly aren't caused by cycling
along the pavement or cycling through red traffic lights and how banning
bikes from pedestrian areas is supposedly just an affront to the average
(casually lawbreaking) cyclist. We all know that this is RUBBISH and that
cycling on the footway, through red traffic lights and the wrong way in a
one-way street is dangerous. IT IS OBVIOUS to anyone who isn't an idiot or a
cyclist (though some of the latter try hard to prove that both categories are
the same, there is a sane minority who vainly try to reign them in). Slow
down, get off the pavement, stop at red traffic lights and observe the law in
one-way streets and everyone will be safer - it's not rocket science.

If you must cycle on footways and endanger lives, and it makes you feel big,
then you go ahead and do that, big man. But why do you have to then come and

newsgroup are not fooled by your nonsense? Do you want to encourage children
to think that cycling along the pavement is acceptable and that pedestrians
don't matter? If you cycle through a red light, or along a footway, or the
wrong way in a one-way street, then you BREAK THE LAW. You commit a CRIMINAL

snip the trolling

Inappropriate speed is dangerous.

Cyclists often travel too fast for the conditions and crash, often into
stationary objects, such as walls and parked cars often killing themselves
in the process, often into pedestrians, maiming and sometimes even killing
them in the process. Many cycle crashes and deaths occur during races held
on the public roads, this should be stopped.

All road users need to be trained in safe travel and prove it by being
tested.
