Besides the question was why is this being cross posted. Quit it whoever
started it.
You are all crazy

Oh I guess you mean posting on top of a reply. I do not trust or expect
people to go to the end of long posts so I just quote and top post instead
of end post.
Nothing wrong with that I hope. It is not a superiority thing at all.

Cheers

I just block those types of posters. Now I am headache free.

Do you also block top-posters?

The Great Ed Dolan never quits anything - ever! It is a constant delight and
a joy forever for me to take nuts and screwballs like you to the woodshed
for a good sound whipping. How else would a blockhead like you ever learn
anything?

Either post right or begone!

There is no point in blocking anyone for anything. What good does it do
to block top-posters when you know they are persisting in their idiocies
regardless. No, it is far, far better to take them to the wood shed for
a good sound whipping. That is what I am here for. Every newsgroup needs
someone like me who is an expert in telling such scofflaws where to get
off.

God, I miss Vandeman

You might ask what does any of this have to do with cross posting. Who
mentioned topposting Not me. Why do you not hassle cross posters then?
You supposedly cannot read that is why. You are all quite the
conversationalists answering questions that are never asked. looney
tunes???

I might ask, but I'm not, besides I have no idea what you are trying to say.

Go away and stop the posts, please. Especially the Vandemann stuff. I
thought I got away from him years ago.

I think most of the cross posting junk is compliments of E.D.
But you are right it's really annoying.
I try to filter it.
But sometimes things slip through.

I am only doing this temporarily with the hope of saving ARBR.

You think people are going to return to your fred newsgroup because of
your trolling? Too funny. I'd hope even the freddiest of freds would
recognize your trolling for what it is and run like hell.

What is with this Fred ****? Some of the fastest cyclists I know are
recumbent cyclists. And some of the slowest cyclists I know are upright
cyclists. But hey, you are certainly right about one thing - jerks are
jerks and there is never anything that can be done about that. G.T. (Greg)
needs to get up to speed himself on what makes cyclists tick and most
especially on what makes a newsgroup tick. One thing is for sure - it is
not types like him who seem not to know their ass from a hole in the
ground. Greg needs to get a few clues himself if you ask me.

What the f*** is the above? Some disgusting lyric to a rock song? The
Great Ed Dolan has never laughed in his entire life nor has he ever
danced. However, he has reveled in wine somewhat from time to time.

Greg needs to get a life and stop feeding off the Great Ed Dolan. Yea, I
am Great , but I am not inexhaustible.

I only wish you were (exhaustable that is - as in breathing your cars
exhaust fumes). Do us a favour ed or whatever your name is stop x posting to
AMB. Your lame excuse for valid posting stoped some time ago, go play with
your mate MV, preferably on a busy interstate.

No doubt it was Edward the Bleat, of the Order of the Perpetually Shallow
who started the complaints of top posting. In this case, though, he was
correct.

Personally I feel that top-posting is fine, but only if you don't intend
for anyone to respond to you. If they do, they're forced to post a reply
in front of the question, making the resulting dialogue look like a
transcript from Jeopardy.

Why do you not hassle cross posters then?
You supposedly cannot read that is why.

Ah, the good old "you cannot read", typically used in reply to someone who
has already *read* your previous posts, and *written* to address the
person you're claiming can't read.

What is...Edward the Bleat! Trolls for 400, Alex.

Ed HAS been griped at and told (and perhaps even agrees) that it is poor
netiquette, but yet he continues...even to replies with newsgroups
appropriately trimmed. Rampant cross-posting, imflammatory statements,
gratuitous hyperbole, claims of something he can't possibly be...all the
earmarks of a troll.

I cannot predict what in any message of mine is going to be picked up and
replied to. That is one of the chief fascinations for me. I know what I
would zero in on, but I cannot predict what others will zero in on.

Once a message gets posted to a newsgroup it takes on a life of its' own. It
is like all human conversation that way.

What is...Edward the Bleat! Trolls for 400, Alex.

netiquette, but yet he continues...even to replies with newsgroups

I was never sure myself what constituted a troll, until I met a real live
one on ARBR a couple of years ago. Trust me on this BB, I am not a troll. I
am merely contentious, and I like to say outrageous things in order to get
some kind of reaction. And most important of all, I will never leave a
respondent hanging. I will do a reply even if it kills me. In other words, I
stand behind everything I write. These are most definitely NOT the earmarks
of a troll.

I hope the cross-posting will only be temporary as I am trying to save ARBR
by dragging other threads to it. It seems like very many topics are of
general interest and can be on more than one newsgroup without doing any
damage to any other newsgroups.

My gratuitous hyperbole is my most endearing quality and I would be lost
without it. You would not want me to ever get sober and serious would you?

Yes, I have no interest in AMB. That is Vandeman's territory apparently and
I will only post to your group when we are dealing with Vandeman topics. I
mean to support him as best I can as I detest mountain bikers and all they

There should be a period at the end of your sentence. Were you born in a
barn?

Vandeman is long-suffering and I am not. I will go for the jugular right
away as I have learned from bitter experience that the sooner you put down
an idiot the better. Vandeman will string idiots along, but I do not have
the patience for that. Idiots are like vermin - they need to be killed
right away.

For someone who prides himself of being an intelligent person, I would think
you could at least come up with your own troll subject. But you being the
idiot you are, only stole MV's line of "anti-mountain biker".

Just as I thought, you have just enough intelligence to make
(un)reasonable arguments but not enough, it seems, to think of your own
topic. Shame on you.

I am not a mountain biker so why would I think up topics for your group. I
am kept plenty busy on ARBR.

And I'm sure us mountain bikers think the same of you and mv. Say, could
you do us a favour and wear your name on your pack? That way we can't fail
to miss you if we ever come across you on a trail snicker

You bet Andy, you and your ilk gang up on Vandman 100 to 1 and you think
that is fair. But is not that typical of mountain bikers - the gang
mentality. The dregs of our society and of our prisons are full of your
types.

Actually what seems to go on is that MV posts statements designed to
get a lot of people angry and they all respond independently. It is
no different than getting an outrageous statement published in the
"letters to the editor" and then getting a whole series of equally
outrageous responses from various individuals who don't like what you
said. Calling that a "gang mentality" is rather silly - there is no
collusion or even a semi-organized effort that could in any sense be
called a "gang", regardless of what you think about the opinions,
civility, or writing-style of various individuals.

Regarding the crossposting, it is very easy to explain. Most people
respond without checking headers. If you want to blame someone for
the crossposting, pick the guy(s) who added each superfluous
newsgroup.
