In that case you weren't paying attention (assuming we're talking about
handling Charles' alternative submission format properly).

You said something that went much further was complex (viz making
numerous changes to the moderation UI to apparently allow the Mods to
cope with the new format). I don't think the Mods would need that, the
old {R} user interface coped [with both formats] perfectly well without.

I know this goes against the Chiarkian ethos that the mods should be
scouring through 50+ lines of header on each posting they moderate to
try to identify imposters, but I'm pretty sure that's not a requirement.

As far as is known Charles is the only one who posts using encapsulation.
The only reason he posted to the new ULM was to test/game the system (as he
effectively admitted - despite you and others saying that was not his
intention). Despite his claim to be a regular of ULM - he had not posted
for
the last eight years or so.

The only people who seem to want the change appear to be you, Mark, and
Charles.

Why not just forget about it and let the matter drop?

If you think there is an improvement that will benefit many posters: then
suggest it - and discuss it

But do not keep going on about something which most people do not want.

You lost the argument: get over it - now is the time to give it up.

You did, but one or the other of the Judith socks seems to have
something mis-configured in their computer; it's sending out duplicate
messages via two different accounts.
