Default Dad jumps on impatient driver’s bonnet to stop him hitting daughter

Video shows the terrifying moment a family including a girl aged five
were almost run over by a driver at a zebra crossing. Dashcam footage of
the incident in Birmingham shows the moment Jason Payne, 34, jumped in
front of the car to prevent it hitting his young daughter Gracie.

I saw that the other day. There is a good shot of the driver's face and number plate, so let's hope he gets his collar felt for that terrible incident. What a prick.

I fully agree.

He's only fit to ride a bike.

On topic as the kids were on scooters.

Even if it was just cars, cars share the roads with cyclists, so any
vehicle causing danger on the roads should be held responsible for their
actions.
Only sad pedants would quibble over the mere mention of other types of
vehicles sharing the roads with cyclists.

Untaxed since March - there's another one for the crusher (unless it was
nicked by a joyriding youth, which would explain the startling
incompetence displayed).

The driver was wearing a medical mask, so it is unlikely to have been a joyrider, but if it is untaxed, it can go in the crusher. I think MOTs are subject to 6 months grace though.

Although the driver could have been wearing that medical mask to help
keep his identity hidden rather than him being concerned about
catching or spreading Covid-19.
