Nothing there about it, the route uses bridges to cross the Thames, perhaps
you are confused, but I do wonder why they want the cyclists to wear
helmets, surely they will cause all sorts of crashes and deaths on such a
(likely) hot day? and what are these registration numbers? everyone knows
that bicycles cannot have numbers affixed to them. They also say that
cyclists should stop for pedestrian crossings, that could be fun to enforce
with a plank of wood or just trail a chain with caltrops.

Yes there is.

ah, I see it, nothing to do with the actual course, and only an extension of
normal maintenance closure till 9am, pedestrians can use it too, from 5 am
to 9 am, what fun.

The whole thing should alienate cyclists even more, with the massive numbers
of road closures and diversions. No wonder people treat cyclists so badly
when they cause so much disruption for their own selfish pleasures.

It would be a pity if a lorry went through the correct way, you know,
ignoring the signs like cyclists do.

Permanently?

Could be entertaining for those of us who don't often use it but who do
own a TV set.

I guess the people organising it know absolutely nothing about road safety,
accidents, efficacy of helmets, liability etc:

What you need:

"Helmet (mandatory) and sticker

I wonder if there will be any lycra lawbreakers (© Crispin) taking part?

You forgot to mention that all bikes will have registration numbers,
so that any lycra law-breakers can be readily identifiable.
