According to one of my mates at work, the Evening Standard carried a
comment from a cyclist who was mortified to be blown away near
Buckingham Palace by a bloke on a Brompton wearing fluorescent gear.
I have a sneaking suspicion that might have been me, but haven't seen
the original. Did anyone see the original comment?

I am told that they get really upset when the Bromptonaut is wearing
a floral dress as she overtakes.

I have seen cyclists dressed in fancy clothing seem to get fairly
upset when passed by someone on a Brompton who is not wearing fancy
clothing.

Thanks. The picture of Guy in a floral dress that has just entered my
brain will require a stiff drink to remove. ;-)

The last time I was wearing fancy clothing I didn't overtake anyone.
But then I was in black tie on my way to a formal dinner, with 6
ill-packed bottles of mead (yum!) in my pannier, so I didn't want to
break a sweat or hit any bumps too hard.

on other places i've heard tale of a lady with a pink brompton who is
seriously fast and only heroic amounts off effort can save ones pride,
and even then may well not be enought as she breezes past...

BP is on my commute as well, but so far this year I don't think I've
worn my yellow Goretex jacket on that route, and isn't really
fluorescent anyway.

There's a woman who works on the wharf near me who rides a pink Brom,
she competes in athletic events all round the world representing her
employer's sponsored team. It might be her.
