Pavement motorist jailed for 12 years.

Its amazing that such people are let loose on our roads and pavements. What if a cyclist had happened to get in his way? Presumably he will be allowed to drive again and put lives at risk following his 10 year driving ban. Could you please now furnish an example of where a pavement cyclist is imprisoned for 12 years? Can't you read? This guy had previous and his use of his car-weapon was deliberate. -- . A driving licence is a licence to kill.- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - Partac would defend a mass murderer if it scored him a point against cyclists. How wrong can you get - I first started reading this newsgroup completely with an open mind, and with no preconceptions. I am a car driver and also a cyclist. Admittedly, I don't wear lycra and I have lights on my bike, obey stop lights, don't ride on the pavement and I also use cycle tracks wherever they are provided, so I don't suppose I will be getting the Mason seal of approval. However, very soon I realised that some of the cyclists in this group are a particularly obnoxious bunch of small-minded selfish (I have to watch my language here, I nearly typed the words I was thinking) bigots, who would prefer to do their socialising getting ****faced alone rather than the normal way of going out and meeting friends. It hasn't taken me long to realise I would rather socialise with the likes of Judith and Dave, etc., who at least seem to have a witty sense of humour and appear very normal to me. And as for Doug, For F***'s sake! |

Could you please now furnish an example of where a pavement cyclist is imprisoned for 12 years? Can't you read? This guy had previous and his use of his car-weapon was deliberate. Yes I can read, but you obviously cannot. Now I repeat the question: could you please furnish me details of where a pavement cyclist (using his bicycle-weapon) receives a sentence of 12 years. And no, I will not be giving a comparable example: It's not me who is making any claims - i am merely asking a question, which I suspect will go unanswered. Your question is ridiculous and unanswerable because there is no comparison. Firstly, the danger presented by a car on a pavement is vastly greater than that of any bicycle. Secondly, It is impossible for a deliberately used bicycle to cause such a serious injury. Thirdly, in the very unlikely event of similar conditions I very much doubt that the cyclist would have had the same previous convictions and be drunk as well. On those rare occasions when motorists are not allowed to get away with it, they are usually punished in proportion to how dangerous they are. -- . Mo http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bristol-16600444 I thought this reckless pavement motoring thing was all a bit of a myth until I heard the story of a colleague. Her daughter had just emerged from her front door in Lewisham when she was hit by a motorist completely on the pavement. The mother screamed at the driver who just drove off. Incidently, the road was completely clear, and the motorist had no lights on at 5.30. Lewisham is one of the most pikey, diversity-infested areas in London...what can you possibly expect? |
