What a motley crew of criminals drivers in court. Lots of drunk and drugged drivers.

A DRIVER who hit a cyclist on a roundabout was among some of the latest Herefordshire cases to appear before magistrates.

Peter Kelly, 64, of Burghill, Herefordshire, admitted driving without due care and attention in Hereford on October 10.

The court heard Kelly was driving an Audi A4 on Holme Lacy Road when he failed to see and collided with a cyclist on a roundabout, causing injury to the cyclist and damage to their bike.

Kelly was fined £361 and received 5 penalty points. He must pay costs of £110 and a £36 victim surcharge.

Toby Selvey, 19, of Mistletoe Row, Tenbury Wells, was banned from the roads after admitting a drug driving offence in Hereford on January 22.

Magistrates heard Selvey had 2.3 microgrammes of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol per litre of blood when he was stopped in Commercial Road. The legal limit is two.

Selvey was fined £184 and disqualified from driving for 12 months. He must pay costs of £135 and a £32 victim surcharge.

Florin-Odica Serban, 32, of Grandstand Road, Hereford, admitted driving an MG ZR without insurance on September 7.

Serban was fined £250 and disqualified from driving for 28 days. He must pay costs of £60 and a £32 victim surcharge.

Finlay Ellis McCarthy, 18, of Canon Frome Court, Ledbury, admitted drug-driving in Hereford on March 17.

The court heard McCarthy had 6.1 microgrammes of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol per litre of blood when he was stopped on Folly Lane, three times the legal limit.

McCarthy was disqualified from driving for 12 months and fined £120. He must pay costs of £135 and a £32 victim surcharge.

Shaun Arran Stokes, 28, of Mountain View, Almeley, admitted possessing a quantity of cannabis and drug-driving in Leominster on December 20.

Magistrates heard Stokes had 38 microgrammes of cocaine per litre of blood while behind the wheel of a Ford C Max in Mill Street. The legal limit is 10.
