Technology just isn't reliable enough for the risk of aberrant "emergency braking" in the overtaking lane of the M1 to be risked. |

So many pedestrians must die or be injured just because motorway idiots can't keep it in their trousers and there is a minute chance of a technical failure? Are speeding sales reps worth more than peds? Perhaps it can be turned off on motorways, so ****wits can kill each other without involving decent people. |

The most important mechanical components are the nut behind the steering wheel and the spoke on the bicycle seat. If these components are well maintained and functioning well and within tolerances then there would be very few mishaps. -- 67.4% of statistics are made up. |

One day you will learn that a push bike simply isn't a suitable form of transport on modern roads. I would agree about modern roads, they are not nearly safe enough for any road user, Mainly due to the high speeds and poor driving standards allowed. But what choice does a cyclist have? It should be evident to you though that cycling is here to stay and has been for a very long time. Indeed some consider its invention and use to be high on a list of human achievements, much more so than cars. -- .
