Default 12 X 27 ULTEGRA CASSETTE 9 speed

I want to make climbing more easy, and was suggested to get the above
cassette.
Is this ratio for climbing ?

And also should i get a new chain at the same time ?
Thanks for help

a 27 is a big plate .. yes, it will make climbing easier.

So will being lighter and stronger

Depends on how worn your current chain is. Get your LBS to
check it.

Agreed.

Also depends on the length of the OP's current chain. If he's running
12-23, going up to 27 _could_ lock up the big-big combo (not that yo
ought to use that one, but it is nice to avoid worrying about trashin
your rear mech...)

I whacked a 27 on my
GF's bike and it went straight on with no dramas. I don't
*think* she's tried to get into the 27 while in the big ring
