Default Cyclist killed in Crewe named locally as mum-of-three care worker -DRIVER ARRESTED

QUOTE:
A woman who was killed as she cycled to work has been named locally as a mum-of-three care worker.

Agnieszka Pocz was knocked down on Hungerford Road in Crewe on Monday morning, and later died of her injuries.

Mrs Pocz, who was 41, had previously worked at Premier Care Ltd in the town..

She was the mother of three children.

Last night, friends described her as her as a "beautiful and compassionate person".

And Premier Care in Crewe, where she had worked, posted on its Facebook page that "the management team at Premier Care Crewe are deeply saddened to hear about the passing of our dear former colleague Agnieszka Pocz. RIP sweetheart."

A Go Fund Me page has been set up in memory of Agnieszka and to help raise money for her funeral.

Friend, Jo Puttnam set up the page on Wednesday and nearly £3,000 has been raised so far.

She said: "I only set up the page at 5pm last night and we have been blown away by the donations.

Jo said Aga would care for the elderly by visiting their homes on her bike - she was on her way to one of the homes on the morning she died.

The family are currently arranging Aga's funeral and her mum and sister are trying to arrange flights from Poland.

Jo said: "Aga was a lovely person. The family are trying to sort out the funeral so I wanted to help with that.

"Aga's mum and sister are trying to come over but the flights are very expensive at the moment so they are doing what they can."

The Go Fund Me page reads: "Agnieszka’s life was tragically cut short on September 14 when she was knocked off her bike whilst working as a carer in Crewe, Cheshire.

"She was taken to hospital but unfortunately passed away.

"Aga was a beautiful, caring and compassionate person who loved her job and her family.

"The loss of her life has left a huge hole in the community and will affect many people. I would like to raise her family some money to help with their financial needs at this awful time."

You can donate to the fundraising appeal here.

Two people have been arrested in connection with the incident. They were described by police as a 20-year-old man from Stoke-on-Trent and an 18-year-old woman from Trent Vale.

A spokesman for Cheshire Constabulary said: "Sadly it has now been confirmed that a 41-year-old woman died as a result of this incident.

"Her next of kin have been informed and they are being supported by specialist officers.

Which one was "the driver"?

Were either of them "the driver"?
