... "MagillaGorilla" wrote in message ... Sara Carrigan has no major endorsements from her gold medal and has won NOTHING since the Olympics. Her career has effectively imploded. She could walk into the local shopping mall in Sydney and nobody would recognize her. NOBODY. Where you get "fame and fortune for years" from this sorry-ass picture is quite inexplicable to me and everyone else. You are still saying thanks, that doesn't fit for you. |

... "Leontien.nl" is her business, it's a women's magazine and pushing fitness crap to the telemarketing crowd. Apparently it pays for things. The team is a development project with only 10 riders, most of them are young (Blaak is 19), so it should be relatively cheap. Another cost saver: her husband is both DS & manager. Why are you playing to that dope? I thought that you were a lot smarter than to help a fool make everyone else look like a fool. |

Don't feed the animals, JT. There's no fortune in that, but fame in one's own community is cool. There's almost nothing more pathetic than the guys who were on the high school varsity football or wrestling team with their letter jackets still talking about that junk 10-20 years later while they pump gas at the local CITGO. That kind of "fame" is bogus because it's small fish in a small pond. The Olympics is quite a few levels beyond that. Anybody who craves C'mon, don't play rhetorical games by adding the "craves" part -- we don't know that's why she went to want won in the Oympics. I didn't say that's why they did it...but they crave the attention once they got it because they think it matters. It doesn't. And they also tend to exaggerate how much their fans really like them. ****ing bunch of Lief Garretts and David Cassidys. Magilla |

Imagine the mind of someone who believes that "fame and fortune" are nothing more than public awareness. For a cyclist who wins a gold medal in the Olympics, fame and fortune is quite dependent on public awareness. Ever hear of somebody called Michael Phelps. The problem is most cyclists think they are entitled to fame and fortune once the win a gold medal. They are not. Magilla |

Thanks for owning up to it, Tom. Thanks, Magilla |

Most women come from affluent upper classes into cycling, so for them life is never so bad, regardless.- - Show quoted text - that's the part that's so dickish about picking on Liz Hatch's teeth. * They're very indicative of social class. What I have noticed is that even a lot of women don't have super great teeth, although some do. Premium dental work and cometics are extremely expensive. Since they are young, there is no need. However you see a lot of yellow teeth. That's because quality bleeching treatments from a good dentist are both expensive and don't last like Veneers do. Veneers never go yellow, but they are extremely expensive. More then likely women wait until they are older to engage in a lot of very costly dental work like crowns and bridges, inlays and veneers, etc. They simple don't need them when they are younger, but that stuff never goes yellow like real teeth. While a lot of girls are from the upper class, they don't have that kind of cash laying around, or are unwilling to spend it. Insurance often won't pick up most of the very pricey stuff that adds the right kind of luster for star appeal. Veneers can cost 15k or more for top and bottom set, and that has nothing to do with crowns, bridges and inlays. Movie Stars spend untold thousands and thousands on their teeth, and that doesn't last forever, because at some point later on, they will also need root canals and replacements. That's big money. Good teeth don't always indicate wealth, but bad teeth almost always indicate poverty. There's probably a lot of guys out there that think Liz Hatch has the most ragged teeth they've ever come across. |
