Cycle number plates

I am assured, from previous discussion, that it's totally impractical for cyclists to display a rear number plate, the fixings will be wrong, it's too big, etc etc etc. Yet to my surprise I saw quite a few cyclists who have entered "Ride across England" I'm not sure if it's a race or just a way of blocking the roads but somehow they all managed to be sporting a number plate on the rear which was as big or bigger than any I have seen on a UK moped. How can this be? Number plates are old technology. More up-to-date technology is already appearing in cars http://www.insurethebox.com/black-bo...h-insurethebox I guess they'll do cars first but as the technology becomes cheaper and more sophisticated I don't see why they won't be useful on bikes. Particularly as more sophisticated models may provide good evidence for cyclists in case of collisions/near misses with cars. So your wishes may come true ;o) |

I quite like the idea, but doubt it'd work for me, especially in the Landrover .. slow and steady until we go offroad, then so bumpy it'd think we'd crashed! -- Paul - xxx |
