It will have an initial shock value, and cause people to slow down. However they will soon become used to it, and used to the image of a child in the road. When people see a real child in the road, they will be conditioned to believe it is a picture and drive straight at it. This would really slow their reactions, and could have exactly the opposite effect of its intention. Martin.
