Yet in other jurisdictions where such schemes are commonplace they
manage to accommodate them somehow.

Monderman's approach was to consult and communicate with the various
disability groups at the design stage and cooperate on the incorporation
of cues that those affected could recognise
and follow.

AIUI, the GDBA have a particular problem in that they train their dogs
to recognise kerbs as the interface between "road" and "path". With no
kerbs they are lost. Their current strategy seems to be to campaign
against them rather than try to find a solution that will work with them.
