Stock trials bike questions.

My son has become fixated on Ryan leech and this fello called Shawn from
Nelson BC and really wants to get a start in trials. Well he is due for a
new bike this winter or spring so guess I should find out what or if a bike
can fit his wants and needs.

this bike must be a summer/winter commuter and trails(we have soem nice
riverside single track if now actual mountains) bike. 26" wheels and
depending on the timing of his next growth spurt the frame size will be
between 14-16.

What should I be looking for to make this bike workable for begining to
learn trials? What will I have to plan on adding?
