Police in West Yorkshire have made an arrest after a cyclist
was killed in a hit-and-run crash between Wakefield and Doncaster.

How odd. The cyclist could not have gone past a red traffic
light on
that section of the A638. There are sections with pavements
running alongside but the usual suspects claim that drivers
don't drive along pavements.

It definitely happened on the footway, did it?

We are always being told that cyclists use the footway so it must
be definite.

You are absolutely certain of that?

I am absolutely certain about people claiming that cyclists use
pavements.

What about the collision?

Did it definitely take place on the footway?

See above.

Or have you seen a problem with admitting that?

It's just a matter of applying logic to your ideas about law breaking
cyclists. Do you have a problem with that?

Despite having hinted at it at the outset, you now refuse to confirm or
deny that this incident - as terrible as it was - took place on a footway.

There are two facts, according to urc lore. Cyclists always ride on the
pavement and drivers never drive on the pavement.

Now, try to work out the differences between assumption, hypothesis,
balance of probability and fact.

One can only wonder why, though the only plausible reason comes to mind
fairly quickly.

Happy New Year, by the way.

To you too. Oh, btw, I watched a dramatisation of David Walliams' Gansta
Grandma a couple of a days ago. I thought Rob Brydon did a good job of
impersonating you.

How about sniffing some daisies? They smell so nice.

Extract of motor vehicle and dog often make this difficult.

Of course.
His loss --
