He sweats, he crashes. He was one of those running junky types til the
knees
went, typical for the type. Now he's on a MTB.

He actually works up a sweat? That is hard to get a mental picture of.
I would love to see the look on his face doing a hard downhill with
actual physical obstacles that he can't cheat his way around. Biking
is, for me, long energy burn rides mixed with some fun, some times
scary, downhills. What is Bush's style, if I can say style?

I think if I ever ride a bike down there again it will be along the

There is just too much 'Eye candy' to pass up.
Wake up Bill, this is a bike thread.
On the bright side you don't need a helmet to crash into the sand.

You may make that ride but it won't be along the beach. A few things
like the
Long Beach Harbor, 4 or more huge marinas, the mouth of the San Gabrial
River,
at least 2 major creeks, LAX, and on and on. The November Outside
Magazine
talked about a South Bay beach ride. I'm not familiar with this but will
check
into it. Years ago you could ride from Playa del Rey to Venice but they
took
out the Balona creek bridge and stuck a huge Marina del Rey plus hotels
and
other developments there.

I haven't been there for something like 20 years, when I did some business
with a company at the marina, and it was crowded then. I already got
off track with the Queen Mary and what not along the way, but I would have
thought you could still make about 50% of the ride along varoius beaches.

Huh?

I understand that not everyone agrees with his politics but WTF? The
guy rides
a bike and he rides the ****ing thing hard according to all reports. He
used to
run a lot - not the mandatory presidential jog, but run - so it seems
reasonable. He's got a trail on the property he cleared, I recall
reading about
him doing typically 18 mile rides.

As for whether or not this fits whatever image you have of the guy, I
can't
imagine why your contempt rules out athletic ability and activity.
Unless this
is another one of those "he's an evil genius, except he's a retard"
things.

Ron

OK, be outraged that I pick on the """President, ta da.""", but if it
is his own personal trail he should have it memorized by now,
and not be falling off. Image/politics/riding are all 3 different but
I just could NOT resist taking a shot. As I have said before I hope
he doesn't kill himself with Cheney next in line, although I would
not mind seeing or even riding his trail. It's all biking to me.
Part of the MTB fun for me is getting a lost as possible on a new
back woods trail. Not that I ever actually get lost, but it is fun
exploring. For Bush, I don't think he could since there would be
bodyguards all over the place, and that would just take out the
fun factor. May all Bush's riding be smooth, err, umm, smoother.

You are right Maggie, some of these should be renamed since you never know
where the ride will take you. That is part of the fun.
