Default Rad-loc hinge failure

There was a thread on the failure of the rad-loc seat hinge here
several months ago. This happened to me this week. I fully expect
that RANS will fix the problem, that much I'm not worried about. RANS
is a fine company and has always stood behind their products in the
past.

It did make me think more about something I've considering for a
while.I have been thinking about putting a hard shell carbon seat,
specifically the ones that Hostel SHoppe uses for their bents, on my
'02 V2. Anyone ever tried this?

I put one on a Trek R200. I got the seat from Hostel Shoppe. Take a look.

My V2 might be an '01. It was on the show room for a long time before I bought it.

Paul, what model and year of bike did the hinge fail on, I thought this
was a problem on the initial year they offered it in 01 I believe, I
hope they have it straightened out by now.
